New restaurant Friday, episode 116. Come with me to get a behind-the-scenes tour of El Bolillo Bakery. El Bolillo has so many locations across Houston and sells traditional Mexican bread, tortillas, cakes, and pastries. The custom cakes and cookies were so beautifully made and these decorators made the job look so easy. All of the techniques used are traditional and don't use heavy machines to weigh out the dough. I was really impressed by how fast the bakers weighed out the dough. This place also had one of the best conchas I have ever tasted. And the Maronitos gave me so much nostalgia. Everything was fresh as ever and you guys should check them out.
