If you've ever wondered what Shakespeare sounds like after five shots of whiskey, drunk Shakespeare is for you. This was located at the Rose Theater in downtown Phoenix. The theater is super intimate and we were greeted with a shot, which we gladly took. There is also a bartender walking around so you can order drinks throughout the show. The premise of the show is that one actor has to take five shots of whiskey and then perform a Shakespeare play. This quickly becomes very difficult because as soon as those shots kick in, everything goes out the window. It's also hilarious because the rest of the cast is not drunk and has to keep the show on track. The Shakespeare play they performed today was Romeo and Juliet, of course, with their own spin on things. This show is very much so rated R. There are tons of quirky and vulgar jokes sprinkled in, so just be prepared for that. There were also tons of opportunities for crowd interaction and involvement, like different games and also audience members taking shots with the cast. This was such an unhinged performance. I definitely recommend it. I went into this with absolutely zero expectations, and I'm so glad I did. It exceeded all of my expectations.
