If the carne asada don't got grill marks I don't even want it. They don't use charcoal, they use volcanic lava rock. This spot in Lincoln Square been open for 32 years on Montrose near Lincoln. People always ask me where's my favorite spot for tacos and I'm always like, what kind of taco? I pulled up to try different kinds of tacos here because my go-to since before I was food sprung was their carne asada. First up, I'm gonna try their El Pastor. And best believe you double tortilla my taco, I'll turn it into two tacos. Next up to try was the lingua taco. You already know I'm tea green sauce. The tongue taco was definitely tender. And now to what I get every time, the carne asada. Look at this, straight steak. I'm gonna be honest, I'm still team carne asada. I'm definitely one of my go-tos for carne asada on the north side. But I do have an ATM if need be, because they are cash only. You can find them at 2213 West Montrose Avenue. I had to grab some of their house-made horchata for my walk home. Bonus is that they're open until midnight on Friday and Saturdays in the spring and summer months.
