Melbourne. Car de Vin is charming, intimate and is in total contrast to the busy mall outside. It's subtle flavours done well with a little laneway romance in ambience that delivers. The pizza is more of a flatbread but goes well alongside the calamari fritti and the linguine cartoccio which was a vibe served steaming in its greased paper bowl. Also served steaming is the huge 1.2 kilo pot of mussels with rich marinara sauce that could have easily devoured with a loaf of bread and worthy of every bite. I promise.
