@clworldtraveler's Review of Mission Ceviche - New York City, NY

Peruvian cuisine has taken over New York. Mission Ceviche chef and owner, Jose Luis Chavez, told me that this underrepresented cuisine is coming high. He has two locations, one on the Upper East Side and one in Union Square that we got to check out, and it's absolutely stunning. Mission Ceviche makes classic Peruvian dishes with a modern twist. We got to try their ceviche trio, which includes the classic, the Nikkei, and the pulpo. Also got to try their lima roll with fresh tuna. Everything is prepared to order, and the sauces actually make these dishes incredible. We were literally picking up the bowls and drinking the juices. The Japanese influence on the Nikkei ceviche was definitely our favorite. For the entrees, we got to try the grilled branzino, made with traditional chorillana sauce, and the lomo saltado, which came with the filet mignon. It was absolutely epic. The flavors of these dishes are just bold and unique. They're an absolutely must-try. Dessert might have been the showstopper. We tried the tres leches and the chocolate con queso. Both were super delicious, but the tres leches took it away. Forbes just named them... destination proving restaurant you need to go to today so go before you can't get a reservation.
