Just when I thought I've tried all of the good Korean restaurants in New York, I came to Muno and my mind was blown. Starting off with the interior, it was giving calm, it was giving gong and peace. Of course, we had to start with these drinks, where the inspiration from authentic Asian flavors were very evident. Next, they gave us a complimentary poached egg in oxtail broth. And the egg was poached to perfection. This was like the most decadent dish I've ever had in my life. It was so simple, so healthy, so hearty. We got the haimuchim, which was salmon and radish and some other greens marinated in gochujang. And it came with a side of seaweed so you can make yourself a little hand roll. The salmon and the veggies were so fresh and it was marinated incredibly. I've never had anything like this before. We also got the uni sopap, which consisted of obviously uni, golden cream rice, seaweed, and beef broth. It was perfectly umami and I cannot stop thinking about it. And of course we also had to get the kalbichin. This was the most traditional kalbichin I've seen in all of New York. The rice cakes and the kalbichin were so chewy and I loved how there was a variety of vegetables mixed in there as well. I would 1000% go back to Muno and try everything else on the menu because I was impressed beyond words. I love restaurants that really emphasize authenticity and tradition in their meals, and Muno was literally perfect.
