Hey, I recently took a trip to D.C. to take in some historic sights and stop by Ben's Chili Bowl. This historic black-owned landmark was opened by Ben and Virginia Ali 65 years ago. It's been frequented by dozens of celebrities, including President Obama, who died here right before his inauguration. I was even greeted by Virginia, who was nice enough to give me a historic tour. I'm trying their famous hot dog, the original Half Smoke. This is a grilled hot dog top of onions, mustard, and Ben's amazing homemade chili sauce. I'll also taste the smoke in this dog, understanding his namesake. The spicy chili was so fantastic, I sopped it up at the bun. The same went for the famous chili burger, which also had a smoky flavor and the same amazing sauce. Of course, I had to try the chili cheese fries too, which were just outstanding. Definitely try out this historic landmark in DC.
