Last big stop of the road trip was the Pittsburgh Classic Kennywood. We had two hours until the park closed, and when we showed up, we saw Steel Curtain was running. This ride seems to be more closed than it is open lately, so to see it running was a real treat. It was so good. For a coaster over 200 feet tall with nine inversion, it's very smooth and graceful. My new favorite coaster at the park. Then we had to hit the classic Old Mill ride. My past visits, this was always Garfield's nightmare, so it was good to see it go back to the original theme. It was cute. It was a good ride. I did like the ride system itself more than the story though. Stopped in for a quick ride on Skyrocket since the line was short. Then you know the last ride of the day had to be on Phantom's Revenge. Loved the new paint job on it and it gave a pretty good ride. The park closed and we took the tunnel out. The next morning you know we had to come back though. We rode Racer last night but we still had to get the other Woodies and a few more classics to hit. So let's go and get in the park. Also want to point out the paint job on the new tunnel. My gosh, Kennywood's so good. I think my favorite new addition for any park is what Kennywood did to Kennywood this year. Paint, bring back the kangaroo, make the park look nicer than it already is. I just think more parks to think about that for the new addition. Anyway, going back under the tunnel, checking out the new front entrance, kind of soaking that in. We didn't really have a chance last night because we were so go, go, go. We head straight to kangaroo before there was a line. Probably my favorite flat ride of the trip. being honest. So happy he got brought back. Then we had to go through the whale's tongue to Noah's Ark. This is a fantastic walkthrough, dark ride attraction. If you go to Kennywood and don't walk through Noah's Ark, you didn't really go to Kennywood. Then it was off to my favorite Woody of the Park, Thunderbolt. Love that it has this drop out of the station. It also received a new paint job. It was running butter smooth, and I have nothing but good things to say about Thunderbolt. It's such a fun ride. I also love its presence on the midway with one of the big drops just right next to everybody right here. At this point we wanted to hop on to some other rides but a few of the rides in the bag didn't open until noon so we checked out Thomas down and I hadn't ridden this ride in two visits here the auto race really glad we rode it so cute so fun then we rode Ghostwood Estate a very good Sally shooting dark ride another favorite of the trip and then we had to hit the whip love the Laterals, you get it. You whip through the course. It's such a classic fun ride. It's a classic a lot in here. This is a classic park, okay? Speaking of classic, here's Laughing South. And then another classic, we go to Jackrabbit, the 102-year-old wooden roller coaster, the ride of passage for any Pittsburgher. This is every Yenzer's first roller coaster when they're a kid. This shot shows it in action. Look, every parent, every grandparent is riding with their kid. It's so cute. It's been an underrated attraction at this park. is drop to $10. My wife and I go on the paddle boats. We get some incredible views of Steel Curtain as well as the other coasters. It's great to just sit and relax in the lake with the beautiful parts of Kennywood around here. We were feeling really good. We had to get a little dance party in. It wasn't a trip to Kennywood without getting a potato Oh my gosh, just a big old tray of potato dripping all over my finger. It was so good. One of the best meals of the trip. Gotta check that one to go. Shout out to their lemonade as well. Kennywood, you will forever be one of my river parks. Thank you for being awesome. I love you so much.
