Before you feed, walk, board your dog, or even take your dog outside this weekend, here are three things that every dog owner needs to know that happened this week. There was a dog food recall and it was from the brand Pedigree. They did a recall on their canned foods and it was in two lots. A lot is basically a number. Every dog food has a lot number, so there are two lot numbers that were recalled. And it was the high protein chopped chicken and duck flavor. The canned food size is gonna be a 13.2 ounce and I'll place right here both of the lot numbers that were affected. If you bought this dog food, do not feed it to your dog. If it is too late and you already fed it to your dog, you're gonna first contact Pedigree and request a replacement. Second thing that happened this week is Parvo. If you are a puppy owner, this is for you. A North Carolina animal shelter temporarily stopped adoptions because there was a Parvo outbreak. Now it wasn't nationwide, but this is an important reminder for you puppy owners. If you don't know what Parvo is, it is highly contagious, especially for puppies. So I'm challenging you to make sure your vaccinations are up to date and you contact your veterinarian as soon as possible if you notice any vomiting, diarrhea, your puppy is always showing signs of being tired, or even if they lost their appetite. And the last thing is heat stroke. Unfortunately, two dogs passed away after allegedly being left in a hot vehicle. Yes, many people are saying, do not walk your dog in the heat, and that is absolutely correct, but also you should not be leaving your dog in your vehicle. Dogs can overheat in anywhere where there is high temperatures. So if your house is hot, your air went out, your dogs can be affected that way too. Signs to watch for our heavy panting, confusion, they're vomiting, if they're showing any signs of weakness, or again, if they're severely tired. Check your dog food, keep your puppy protected, watch your dog closely in the heat, and save this for later and send it to another dog owner.
