Six Flags Great America is the next stop of the road trip at Gurney, Illinois, just outside Chicago. We got there early, but so did everybody else, so we went ahead and invested in the Flash Pass Skip the Line system. We opted for the Gold Pass, which cuts your weight by 50%. The ride you must get on first is Max Force here. We played it right and we're on the fourth train of the day. This is the fastest accelerated launch of any coaster in the U.S. It's so fast I don't even really remember it. The rest of the ride is short, but good. There's the dog tongue inversion then followed by this roll which is my favorite part of the ride then you hit this last inversion and hit the brakes about halfway down it then we headed to raging bull i've been to this park three times and it's always delivered people under hype this ride but they also over hype it it's kind of a weird balancing act here i just wish b&m did more twister layouts like this i do think raging bull is my favorite coaster at this park we rode in the back row and there was a great pop of airtime off of the first drop and the rest of the ride was just plain fun with flash pass as soon as you physically enter one line you digitally enter the next so we hit up justice league we actually rode this twice no 3d glasses anymore i didn't think it took away from the ride my wife was very excited she's a top 10 player our surprise of the day was x flight the b&m wing coaster i remember not enjoying this as much during my last visit it's actually a fairly intense ride a lot of positive g's compared to the other floater wing type coasters this near miss is one of the best though it was great we then headed to goliath which used to be my second favorite wooden coaster probably the biggest disappointment of the trip it is nowhere near the top of my list anymore i did not enjoy this ride really even a little bit the dive loop and the zero g are the best part but it didn't really do anything for me this time i needed to get happy again so we headed to the double decker carousel And I was a very lucky boy. I got the lead horse on the top deck. So I'd do a little dance. Had to. Highly recommend taking a spin on this ride. You get great views of the front entrance plaza. As well as the coasters here in just a second. Carousel is just a great way to reset your day. I highly recommend it. Ooh, pretty coasters. Ooh, water slides. Ooh, very fun six flags. We then headed to Dark Knight Coaster. The merge point for this ride was too early. We ended up waiting about... 25 to 30 minutes even with the flash pass made me a sad clown definitely fun for a wild mouse though what is not fun is the joker coaster a new coaster i hadn't ridden since my last visit as it didn't exist i just think the world was a better place when these things didn't exist it's too much flipping i'm not feels like you're just riding a car crash and then and then it's over if you enjoy these types of rides let me know in the comments why i just don't understand them here i am pretending to enjoy my life decisions Oh man, that hurt. Forgot to film it, but we also did ride Whizzer, and then we took a lap around the park to film some B-roll. Look at that. Wow, lots of fun. Batman and whatever this is called now. Probably Flash, I think. It was mid-afternoon, and we didn't want to eat at Six Flags, so we went ahead and bounced. Did think this is one of the prettier Six Flags in the chain, though. Entrance Plaza looked great. Make sure you follow for the next stop.
