Welcome to the Nordwich. This is an American restaurant on bleaker with really fresh ingredients. We loved the ambiance, but agreed that the decor was more palatable than the meal. In total, we spent $90 before tip. We ordered the savory beignets to start, which are made with aged cheddar and a chive butter. They definitely looked more like fritters and were on the salty side. The morels was a cheesy and honestly delicious vegetarian option, which you can see right here. Stunning presentation. I ordered the flute crudo, not enough basque pear, which felt a little bit unbalanced in the acidic flavor, which I have the same impression of from the raw scallops, which come with English pea and grapefruit.
