This is the oldest chocolate shop in the United States, and what you're seeing is this woman is making chocolate literally from scratch, bean to bar, right in front of you, using the processes that they've had the entire time this shop has been around. That alone, if you're a food nerd, is worth coming into this shop. The fact that this is living history, also to me, is amazing. I absolutely love the food culture in Philadelphia, and things like this make me want to come back here time and time again. But this alone would be worth going half an hour for me.
