So my best meal on Virgin Voyages wasn't at the hottest, most booked premium dining restaurant. It was at the one people were too intimidated to book. This is Tess Kitchen giving off a food laboratory chic vibe with performance dining seating, sleek design, and the ability to watch chefs plating like it's a culinary stadium. I'm talking hundreds of dishes being meticulously finished like a live cooking show. We even got a behind-the-scenes kitchen tour and ended up seated by a porthole giving waterfront dining energy. Here's the insane... part. It was easy to get a reservation and it absolutely shouldn't have been. So why? Apparently the name intimidates some sailors like it's going to be too experimental with bizarre eating. But here's the thing. Premium dining is included. Not an add-on. Not an upcharge. Included. Literally nothing to lose. Virgin has 20 plus eateries with no buffets. Don't love something? Go somewhere else. No extra cost. No risk. So go to Test Kitchen. A full-on study of form plus function equals flavor. And the tasting menu changes every couple days with both a regular and vegetarian option.
