Dominica is truly a hidden gem within the Caribbean. Not to be mistaken for the Dominican Republic, this country is truly in a league of its own. Isn't it ironic that some of the most beautiful places come with a painful past? We spent the day with the Kalinago tribe, the Caribbean indigenous people. We learned about their deep and rich history and how they are currently sustaining themselves. We were even able to participate in their bread making process. I appreciated that it was delicious and gluten-free. The grounds that they live on were truly breathtaking with ocean views galore. We had an authentic meal that allowed us to taste the love in each bite. Now this is what I mean by the beauty in traveling. Learning and immersing yourself in different cultures and finding the connection somewhere. I love the future of how this country is looking. It's vibrant and bright. And I'll definitely encourage you to visit a true hidden gem of the Caribbean.
