Last week, Alana and I made it to Amalinda, which is a Spanish and Portuguese restaurant located in downtown Milwaukee. The ambiance was very cozy and made for a pleasant evening. We decided to try out their happy hour options. To drink, Alana got the El Spritz and I got the White Cosmo. I liked my Cosmo that had a nice cranberry flavor and that there was an actual cranberry in my drink. As an appetizer, I tried their homemade sourdough, which had a great crunch and was delicious dipped in olive oil. We then ordered the Spanish chorizo, piquillo peppers, potatoes, and chips, the marinated wichego cheese and goral olives, and the squash toast with goat cheese salsa verde and boquerone. The most interesting dish was definitely the squash toast. The goat cheese was creamy and perfectly matched with slightly salty boquerone. The cheese and olives were fresh and delicious. Alana's favorite dish was the chorizo, which had a lot of flavor and had great texture. I took one bite of the marinated wichego cheese and goral olives on the sourdough bread, and wow, that was so delicious. For dessert, I got the creme catalán, which was a creme brulee with saffron and cinnamon. It was very rich and creamy with a perfect caramelized on top the cinnamon and saffron added a hint of different flavor that i enjoyed and wasn't overwhelming i took one by the crema catalan and wow that was so delicious i can't wait to come back soon
