Y'all, come with me to Jackson, Mississippi as I explore the home of Megger Evers, a civil rights activist who was tragically murdered right in the driveway you see in front of me. But let me tell y'all, earlier this year I had the chance to read a book about Medgar, his wife Merrily, and their kids. And honestly, everything about this house lines up with exactly what I pictured while reading it. Walking through it honestly felt so real. I could feel the weight of the fight Medgar carried and what his family had to endure. And y'all we even have proof here of the shots that were fired into the house just because he demanded freedom and voter rights for black people. But you know what, I'm so thankful he stood up. He helped pave the way and his courage continues to inspire generations. I mean, this is history at its finest. Like, the pink bathroom, like my granny has a pink tub at her house. But the bedrooms, like, it's just all giving this vibe that just feels so great to me. And just to be able to sit here in their bedroom. And if I had a TV like this right here, oh, honey, I don't know about that one right there. I don't know. Small washing machine, yeah, I don't know about that either. But, I mean, I guess it do what it do when you back in the gap like that. So, and on a lighter note, I even got a chance to pick out some vegetables out of Merrily's garden. So getting a little taste of history in the most personal way is what I was doing, honey.
