it's my boyfriend's birthday month so we headed over to oso felipe in montclair new jersey for a date night oso felipe is owned by the same creators of pineapple express also in montclair as soon as we walked in i was immediately impressed by their ambiance and their decor it kind of reminds you of like a kitchen like like like a family kitchen you know i don't know i really liked it it was beautiful the staff was also so attentive and so kind for drinks we got the oso paloma which is surprisingly really sweet and the poblano daiquiri because i love myself a spicy drink for apps we chose the papas fritas and the elote which was one of the specials of the evening and that elote was so amazing it was probably the best elote i've had in my life for the entree with this fish dish that's typically best but tonight was snapper which was totally fine because it was cooked the same way and it was so good the fish skin was so crispy and it gave it a light crunch also the carrot habanero salsa was so light but also so flavorful. We ended our meal with the Mexican coffin which is like three different liquors in it. It was strong but it was so good. They also have a beautiful outdoor seating section that you can also sit in.
