In today's happy hour hunt, I'm at Lucille's Barbecue in Tempe Marketplace. If you've never been here, it's just this big ass house on the side of Tempe Marketplace, literally. It's like themed like grandma's house, you know? I've been here once before, but I don't remember it. So I came across this place when I was looking up happy hours and they have a lot of good deals. Now, this is in slow motion because this is a KFC biscuit and you cannot tell me that it's not. It is a KFC biscuit with raw sugar and it was dry. Look, look, it was dry. You could tell on her face it was dry. okay this is my favorite martini i've ever had um cucumber watermelon martini it was fresh look at that fresh watermelon so good i tried my friend's tiki punch that was really good as well okay the food came uh nashville hot chicken fried green tomatoes uh fried pickles and my friend bit into her chicken and it was pink she got scared put it to the side um we decided that it was just smoked probably because it didn't feel raw i tasted it it was juicy, but the skin wasn't Southern. I need a Southern chicken skin. If you know what I'm saying, I don't know how to explain it. That was a hot honey sour. So good. Literally one of my favorite drinks ever now. Um, it was tasted fresh. It made me pucker. It was so good. Okay. Fried green tomatoes. I don't know why I'm holding my fork like that. I look confused, but it was really good. I wasn't expecting it to be so Tex-Mexy. It was good though. Um, pork belly burn ends with these pickles and they weren't dill pickles. They were pickles but it worked usually i don't like sweet pickles it was really good y'all it was really really good you can come for the cocktails and that um i had the fried pickles like last so maybe that was why but they weren't like crispy country but it was okay um my friend got the gumbo and she let me have some it was good it was okay it was good okay it was good because it was hot but it wasn't like super flavorful but it was good because it was like hot soup i don't know how to explain it it wasn't horrible this was really bad i It had no flavor and the texture was so weird. The texture was so weird. I was expecting Applebee's. I don't know why. Hell no. But this place is really cute. I like that they gave me hot towels. It makes it makes everything worth it.
