Manila in Asao began in 2020 as a heartfelt response to the pandemic, when chef Natalia Moran and her siblings cooked from their home in San Juan for frontline workers. That small act of love grew into a beloved restaurant in Manila, then in 2023, a new chapter opened in, of course, Silver Lake, Los Angeles, California. Critically acclaimed by the LA Times and featured multiple times by the infatuation, the restaurant has quickly become one of LA's most talked about new dining destinations. We ordered the pork belly seasick, the grilled chicken with cucumber salad, and garlic rice. That was enough for two people for sure. And they have some live music and if it's your birthday, they really take the time to make it family style and celebrate your birthday in front of the restaurant.
